RIVER RAFTING / KAYAKING

The Cahabón River is a year-round, white-water rafting river which flows from the cloud forest through dense sub-tropical growth, past fascinating caves once inhabited by Mayas. You’ll find incredibly beautiful emerald pools suspended over the underground river, thermal tributaries, and up to class 4 rapids. You end at huge Lake Izabal, where you can enjoy the thermal pools to get the kinks out of your muscles before returning to Guatemala City.
There is also rafting from June to February on the jungle rivers in the lowlands around Tikal. The Chiquibul is a class II-II+ flowing through virgin forests and limestone canyons. A relaxing cool ride past lush vegetation.
